Intake of dietary fibre caused patients with systemic sclerosis considerable abdominal pain and three required hospital admission.

The author advises, if patients with systemic sclerosis present with symptoms of constipation, any advice to increase dietary fibre should be used with caution and in general these patients should encouraged to go on a low fibre diet.
