The study compared 1,617 patients with brain tumours with a group of 1,470 free from brain tumours to investigate the effects of mobile phone use.
The researchers found
(a) A 30% increase in brain tumours on the same side of the brain that was used during cell (mobile) phone calls
(b) There was a 4.4 fold increase in non-malignant tumours in cell (mobile) phone users.
