NO association between acne and saturated fat intake

This post includes a summary of a paper published in Skin Therapy Letter 2010 Mar;15(3):1-2,5 and a recipe for herring stir-fry.

After a review of the literature Ferdowsian found there was NO association between acne and saturated fat intake.

Recipe of the day

Herring Stir-Fry

Ingredients
2 small herrings boned, filleted                                                                     Food Mall: Herring Fillets
Appel Kipper Fillets (Appel Smoked Herring Fillets), 6.7-Ounce Tin (Pack of 6)1 x ginger root peeled
1 small carrot peeled
1 small onion peeled
2 ounces broccoli florets
2 ounces cauliflower florets
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 x salt and black pepper
1 x lemon zest thin strips

Directions:
Cut the fillets into slices.

Finely chop the ginger, cut the carrot into sticks and thinly slice the onion.

Cut the broccoli and cauliflower into small florets.

Heat the oil in a large frying pan or wok. Stir-fiy the ginger and vegetables for about 2 minutes.

Add the herring slices and cook for a further 3 to 4 minutes, stirring carefully so the fish stays in shape.

Just before serving add the lemon juice and seasoning.

Sprinkle with the lemon rind.
